A recent study has found that those who say that they are victims of age discrimination are more likely to suffer from a range of physical and mental health problems.

A new study has suggested that there is a direct connection between how well we age and how we view old age. Those with a positive attitude toward old age are likely to live longer — up to eight years — than their more pessimistic counterparts. But how, as older people, we are treated by others also has a big impact.

Age Cymru is demanding that funding is ring-fenced to ensure that the Welsh Assembly Government’s strategy to tackle pensioner poverty, ill-health and age discrimination can be put into action.
